Corruption is one of the major effects of poor governance. Corruption undermines well-being and quality of life, particularly for the poorest and most vulnerable people. In Africa alone, the cost of corruption has been estimated at US$ 148 billion a year, representing 25 per cent of the continent’s GDP.
