Guidance for community-led total sanitation (CLTS) in Tearfund-supported projects

These guidelines will assist Tearfund’s partners and disaster management teams facilitating community-led total sanitation (CLTS) to incorporate checks and safeguards for building sanitation systems that are structurally sound and culturally and environmentally appropriate, minimising the risk of contamination of water supplies.
Included in the guidelines is advice on achieving safe sanitation systems equitably in post-emergency and fragile state settings.
