Unfortunately, there is a risk that HIV can be passed from mother to child during breastfeeding. However, with the right actions, that risk can be lowered to less than five per cent. Making an impact: Tearfund’s work on HIVIn 2006 Tearfund launched a ten-year plan to stop the spread of HIV and reverse the impact of AIDS in all of the communities where its partners were working. The results show that real progress can be made through mobilising churches and communities.
