THINKING THEOLOGY: ZIMBABWE
21st - 24th November
Take time to reflect on the Bible and be inspired to let God’s word shape your work.
The organisers have decided that the recent political changes in Zimbabwe make this event very important, however we want to ensure it takes place at the right time and that the content is relevant. In light of this a new date has been set for 8th - 11th May 2018 at ZESA Training Centre, Harare.
We are still in discussions about what this might look like and there are likely to be changes to the programme, but we will be able to update you further on our intentions for this event early next year.
We understand that this change may mean you are no longer able to attend. We are therefore happy to offer refunds to all registered delegates. However, if you would like your payment to be transferred to the new event in May you are able to do so.
Please complete this online form to let us know how you would like to proceed.
What is ‘Thinking Theology’?
Thinking Theology gatherings provide space to reflect on what the Bible has to say about the pursuit of justice and the way in which Christians do development work. We believe that our theology shapes who we are and how we live as disciples, and that it should guide our work as well.
The gatherings aim to support theologians, church leaders and other Christian leaders working in relief and development, helping to envision and equip them for holistic mission.
What will the content focus on?
The programme for the gathering will focus particularly on family and leadership in the Zimbabwean context. Topics for discussion stem from the overarching themes of ‘Biblical foundations of the family’ and ‘Holistic leadership beyond the four walls of the church’. High-profile speakers will bring these topics to life and prompt discussion and learning, leading to a day of action planning. Speakers include:
- Francis Njoroge
- Dr Roy Musasiwa
- Bishop A. Magaaya
- Prof. Nadine Mhloyi
- Sarah Cross
- Pastor Kilton Mayo
