About this course

Holding discussions with the community about the risks they face, and what they could do to prepare for them, is a key part of disaster preparedness. Local people know more about their community than anyone coming in from the outside.

This short course will help you to facilitate inclusive and effective community focus group discussions as part of disaster preparedness. It is suitable for both those who are experienced in disaster preparedness and response, and those who are exploring for the first time how to help a community reduce the risk of  disaster

This short course on community focus group discussions has been taken from the in-depth online course Disasters and the local church.
