About this course
One of the ways to understand a community – its geography, its resources and its people – is to draw a map. Community mapping is a useful tool to help a community prepare for a disaster.
This short course will enable you to support a community to draw useful maps of the local area and to use them to identify risks and resources. It is suitable for both those who are experienced in disaster preparedness and response, and those who are exploring for the first time how to help a community reduce the risk of disaster.
This short course on community mapping has been taken from the in-depth online course Disasters and the local church.
