2015 Available in English, French and Spanish

Member of a choir in DRC who write their own songs to educate people on the topic of SGBV.

From: Reveal toolkit: Gender and sexual violence

Tools to reveal and address inequality between men and women, and to address gender-based violence, including sexual violence and female genital mutilation/cutting

This Bible study is based on Genesis 1:27, John 4:4-26, Mark 5:25-34, John 8:2-11 and Galatians 3:26-29.

It makes the following key points:

  • God clearly tells us in the Bible that women and men are equal and yet around the world women have fewer rights to education, access to food, money and well paid employment. Jesus went against his culture and included women amongst his most trusted friends. He made very powerful counter-cultural statements in the way he treated women.
