THINKING THEOLOGY: ZIMBABWE
8th - 11th May
Take time to reflect on the Bible and be inspired to let God’s word shape your work.
The Thinking Theology Gathering has moved from November 2017 to May 2018. See full details below.
What is ‘Thinking Theology’?
Thinking Theology gatherings provide space to reflect on what the Bible has to say about the pursuit of justice and the way in which Christians do development work. We believe that our theology shapes who we are and how we live as disciples, and that it should guide our work as well.
The gatherings aim to support theologians, church leaders and other Christian leaders working in relief and development, helping to envision and equip them for holistic mission.
What will the content focus on?
The programme for the gathering will focus particularly on family and leadership in the Zimbabwean context. Topics for discussion stem from the overarching themes of ‘Biblical foundations of the family’ and ‘Holistic leadership beyond the four walls of the church’. High-profile speakers will bring these topics to life and prompt discussion and learning, leading to a day of action planning. Speakers include:
- Dr Laura Mautsa
- Dr Roy Musasiwa
- Rev. Emmanuel Isaya
- Theresa Edlmann
- Themba Lonzi
- Dr Jacques W. Beukes
- Bishop A. Magaya
- Pastor Kilton Moyo
- Dr. Ragies Masiiwa Gunda
