At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, no safety measures were in place to prevent the spread of the virus at places where rural communities access their water.
Eagles lobbied a strategic leader who was able to stand up for the rights of these communities at a national level. They also connected NGOs and policy makers with the communities so they could better understand the risks.
This resulted in the creation of guidelines to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 at boreholes.
