This case study explains the challenges experienced by waste pickers in Nigeria, and explores the existing relationship between fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies, governments and the informal waste sector.

Drawing from existing initiatives and policy, it shares recommendations for FMCG companies and governments as to the opportunities to ensure that waste pickers rights and livelihoods are respected and upheld.
