Food security: Project in Malawi helps Barton beat hunger

A case study about an 81-year-old now able to grow enough food for his household of six

2011 Available in English

Food shortages are an all-too-common occurrence for people in Nsanje district in southern Malawi where drought frequently ruins crops.

This case study tells how Tearfund partner, River of Life Evangelical Church, has been helping people to reduce their exposure to harvest failures by planting new types of crops, including species and varieties more resilient to climatic changes, as well as teaching producers about soil and water conservation, fruit propagation and food processing.
