Christ triumphs over conflict

This Bible study can help us explore how different ethnic identities are part of God’s purpose for the world, and that in Christ, ethnic identities and cultures are united without being destroyed

A Reverend from South Sudan engaged in the peacebuilding process

From: Reveal toolkit: Conflict and peacebuilding

Tools that help people to understand and analyse conflict, work effectively within a conflict setting, and help communities reduce violent conflict and build sustainable peace

This Bible study is based on James 4:1-2; 1 John 2:9-11 and 4:20-21, Ephesians 2:11-22, Luke 6:27-42, Romans 12:9-21 and Philippians 2:1-8 .

It makes the following key points:

  • The Bible tells us that human beings were created to live in a harmonious relationship with God and one another.
  • The root of conflict is a broken relationship with God rather than any ethnic or cultural differences.
