Many rural communities had limited access to basic supplies and good information during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Eagles operated a radio programme to raise awareness in these communities, and one caller highlighted the difficulties experienced by people with visual impairments.
From this, Eagles:
- reached out to local government officials
- met with Torch Trust for the Blind, a local specialist organisation
- petitioned the government for more funding
- visited pastors of rural churches to encourage support for the most vulnerable in their communities.
