Masculinité, Famille et Foi (MFF) – which translates into English as Masculinities, Family and Faith – is an adaptation of Transforming Masculinities, Tearfund’s faith-based approach to ending sexual and gender-based violence.
While this adaptation retains the core Transforming Masculinities aim of reducing intimate partner violence and challenging the social norms and beliefs that maintain gender inequality, it includes an additional focus on family planning.
MFF consists of a series of trainings and workshops that guide faith leaders and their congregations to actively identify, embrace and champion positive masculinities and gender equality.
It includes:
- all the core Transforming Masculinities material and activities
- additional weeks to discuss family planning in the Community Dialogues material
- information on both individual and couple health and family planning options
This adaptation was developed by Tearfund in partnership with the Institute for Reproductive Health (IRH) at Georgetown University as part of the USAID-funded Passages project.
