Through a process called Journey to Healing, survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) share their stories without stigma in peer support groups, and begin to speak out against the abuse perpetrated against them. This approach has proven to be a successful and replicable model that can easily be adapted to different contexts.
There are two manuals and a quick guide to support the process:
- Manual 1: A shared journey equips the leaders of peer support groups to realise their dreams of supporting survivors.
- Manual 2: Out of the shadows provides leaders of peer support groups with activities to help them facilitate a journey to healing with survivors of SGBV.
- The quick guide gives an overview of the Journey to Healing approach, but does not prescribe a particular journey that each survivor or group must follow.
