Tearfund believes that the local church plays an essential role in eradicating poverty and bringing sustainable transformation to every area of life.
Church and Community Transformation (CCT) is achieved as churches outwork their faith in all areas of life (integral mission) and respond in a comprehensive way to the needs of their local communities.
CCT flows from our theology that identifies the roots of poverty in four broken relationships: with God, with one another, in our own brokenness and in our broken relationship with the rest of Creation. Overcoming poverty begins by addressing all four of these relationships.
Church and Community Mobilisation (CCM) is Tearfund’s most effective process for achieving sustained holistic impact (CCT). It gives local churches and communities a voice, adapts to different contexts, breaks dependency and mobilises local resources to respond to needs identified by the community.
