Environment

Resources to help people and groups restore their natural environment and use finite resources in a sustainable way

At a glance

Our environmental focus aims to restore and enhance the environment locally, nationally and globally.

It prioritises using finite natural resources in the most sustainable ways to work towards a world that lives in harmony with the natural environment. A world in which every person’s basic needs are met and all human beings have a chance to flourish.

This means we are committed to environmental and economic sustainability – using approaches such as renewable energy and waste recycling that reuse natural resources to generate sustainable income, a process known as the ‘circular economy’.

Resources in this category aim to help development organisations consider their environmental impact and to consider establishing local self-help groups (SHGs) where knowledge can be shared on environment and economic sustainability. Our environmental advocacy resources focus on climate change and the circular economy, and include policy recommendations to inform international climate change negotiations.
