Our peacebuilding work supports the local church, faith groups, individuals and communities to bring support to people and places affected by violent conflict.
It shares the skills, networks and resources needed to address the systemic causes and impact of violence and focuses on women and young people taking the lead as primary peacebuilders. It ensures that peacebuilders have support systems to sustain their spiritual, physical and emotional wellbeing and supports faith communities to influence structural change in support of inclusive peace and justice.
Peacebuilding work centres upon listening to communities. Resources such as Community Conflict Transformation Dialogues are designed to support community peacebuilders as they facilitate workshops that help people think through how to resolve conflicts that affect them. Various conflict analysis tools provide questions that examine the nature and history of a conflict and potential peace-filled responses to future scenarios.
In addition to this, there are several resources, including Peacebuilding within our communities, which encourage organisations to incorporate conflict-sensitive peacebuilding into their development work.
