This guide contains Bible studies, tools, and activities to help churches and communities respond to the shocks and stresses they might face.

The purpose of this step-by-step approach is to create space for churches and communities to discuss their vulnerabilities and develop disaster preparedness plans, enhancing their resilience.

It has been adapted from an existing one called Participatory Assessment of Disaster Risk, which emphasises strongly that inclusion, participation, and facilitation are foundational and essential.

‘I have learned that the best way to succeed is to find ways of making the community do the things themselves. Then they will produce the information and strategies themselves.’
