Many communities experience environmental changes over time. For example, changes in the numbers of trees, insects and wild animals, changes in people’s health and livelihoods, or changes in the frequency of floods, droughts or other disasters. If communities keep local records, they can track these changes and respond to them more effectively.
This tool helps communities to think about which parts of the environment are changing, decide what they will measure and how often they will do so, and who will be responsible.
