Linking climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction

Policy recommendations for improving communication and collaboration between the climate change adaptation and disaster risk management communities

2008 Available in English

Climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction (DRR) have similar aims and benefits. Unfortunately, people that work in these two areas have largely worked in isolation from each other. This must change as a matter of urgency to ensure a comprehensive risk management approach at local, national, and levels of government.

This paper calls for experts and practitioners in the fields of climate change adaptation and DRR to communicate and collaborate with each other effectively.
