On the 26th March 2026 Tearfund convened a conference at Lambeth Palace that brought together sixty Christians of different ages, roles, status and gender together to explore actions the local church can take to build a just and lasting peace in their local community as well as nationally and globally.
The conference was part of an ongoing series of actions that aims to mobilise Christians in the UK to articulate a view of international relations that is based on 'Kingdom' or 'Christ-centered' values, as an alternative to the currently dominant ‘might is right’ fear-based narrative.
The conference discussed and sought to propose a set of guiding values or principles to describe how we as the UK should use our influence to build just and lasting peace where all can thrive.
You can see what we came up with in the reports below. You can also have your say on what you think those values, principles or actions should be by clicking on the response form. What do you think? Can we offer a better alternative to ‘might is right’?
