The MFF programme aims to reduce rates of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and improve family planning

This report shares the results of a quantitative study carried out at the end of the Masculinité, Famille, et Foi (MFF) programme in eight local churches in Kinshasa, DRC.

It identifies patterns about how MFF enables the norms and behaviours of local, faith-based communities to change. It may be useful for practitioners who work on norms-shifting interventions, particularly within faith communities.

The results indicate that MFF change strategies – engaging faith leaders and community members in personal and critical reflection around norms – likely lead to changed attitudes towards modern contraception and family planning.

MFF was developed by Tearfund in partnership with the Institute for Reproductive Health (IRH), Association de Santé Familiale (ASF), and Population Services International (PSI).
